I’ve posted a lot lately about life. Being a wife, mother, teacher, helper, and life lessons along the way. We either grow and change or wither and remain stagnant. The older I get the more I realize God is not through with me yet. Each day I serve a purpose for His plan regardless of my own ambitions.
Learning to stop, listen, pray, act according to what He would have me to do (I hope). This is the most important lesson of all. I must be the hands and feet of Jesus. I recently asked a class what they learned. This is what one said….I must be more involved. I must use what God has given me, in my hand, today, to be a part of someone’s life. There are no excuses good enough, no limitations large enough, and no weakness big enough to eliminate me from the challenge at hand. I have learned that the world awaits, and I must refresh myself daily to find a way to make a difference.
So hear I am humbled and grateful once again. As usual I think in lyrics and this season reminds of a song. One of My favorites hymns I was lucky enough to sing when I needed the lyrics the most 💚
by Dan Shuttle
[Verse 1]
I, the Lord of sea and sky
I have heard my people cry
All who dwell in dark and sin
My hand will save
[Chorus]
Here I am, Lord. Is it I, Lord?
I have heard you calling in the night
I will go, Lord, if you lead me
I will hold your people in my heart
[Verse 2]
I, who made the stars of night
I will make their darkness bright
Who will bear my light to them?
Whom shall I send?
[Chorus]
Here I am, Lord. Is it I, Lord?
I have heard you calling in the night
I will go, Lord, if you lead me
I will hold your people in my heart
[Verse 3]
I, the Lord of snow and rain
I have borne my people’s pain
I have wept for love of them
They turn away
Chorus]
Here I am, Lord. Is it I, Lord?
I have heard you calling in the night
I will go, Lord, if you lead me
I will hold your people in my heart
[Verse 4]
I will break their hearts of stone
Give them hearts for love alone
I will speak my words to them
Whom shall I send?
[Chorus]
Here I am, Lord. Is it I, Lord?
I have heard you calling in the night
I will go, Lord, if you lead me
I will hold your people in my heart
[Verse 5]
I, the Lord of wind and flame
I will send the poor and lame
I will set a feast for them
My hand will save
[Chorus]
Here I am, Lord. Is it I, Lord?
I have heard you calling in the night
I will go, Lord, if you lead me
I will hold your people in my heart
[Verse 6]
Finest bread I will provide
‘Til their hearts be satisfied
I will give my life to them
Whom shall I send?
[Chorus]
Here I am, Lord. Is it I, Lord?
I have heard you calling in the night
I will go, Lord, if you lead me
I will hold your people in my heart
