Yes Please, Thanksgiving and Christmas

Candle sticks are from family and candy dish
from a dear neighbor years ago.

I love Thanksgiving and Christmas. For me it’s not one or the other it is both. I’m slowly decorating for Christmas and keeping Thanksgiving up too! My goal is to have everything done by Thanksgiving. After Thanksgiving dinner I can swap the table to Christmas and enjoy every moment without stressing out trying to get it all done. So far our tables are fall/ Thanksgiving.

Our Christmas tree is up and decorated. We’ve started our winter bulbs and planted pansies.

Chelsea porcelain, and Gorham.

For our Thanksgiving dinner and Christmas dinner we have our favorites. Sweet potatoes, seven layer salad, cranberry salad, green bean casserole, jello salad, beef and turkey. Desserts include cakes, pies, and cookies.

Our daughter’s room is a complete winter wonderland land. Presents are trickling in ready to be wrapped. Our Christmas cards are ready to be stuffed and addressed. I’m adding extra groceries each week to avoid a mad rush for Thanksgiving dinner. My hope is to truly enjoy this season without the distractions of trying to get it all done. To unplug, bake Christmas cookies, watch Christmas movies, and enjoy daily Christmas caroling.

This season we may not be celebrating with family and friends as we have in the past but we will still celebrate together. There are no rules just family time in everything we do. We choose both. How do you celebrate Thanksgiving and Christmas? Is it a stressful time to get through it or can you relax and enjoy the season and all that it offers?

And let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, to which indeed you were called in one body. And be thankful. Colossians 3:15
