I started a 21 Day Bible Challenge this week called Out of the Shallows 21 Days of Deep.

Day 2 is about letting your light shine before others and that they may see your good deeds and see Jesus.

I immediately remembered a picture I took of kids running into bible school a few weeks ago. The light shining on them as they run in excited to learn about Jesus.

The picture reminds me of a hymn:

I want to walk as a child of the light by Kathleen Thomerson:

I want to walk as a child of the light

I want to follow Jesus

God sent the stars to give light to the world

The star of my life is Jesus

In Him there is no darkness at all

The night and the day are both alike

The Lamb is the light of the city of God

I want to see the brightness of God

I want to look at Jesus

And show me the way to the Father

Matthew 5:14-16

 “You are the light of the world. A town built on a hill cannot be hidden.  Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.

And just as the hymn says “In him there is no darkness at all”. So shine your light for Jesus friends.
