Shepherd’s Pie

Super quick & easy meal that will leave your family full and satisfied.

Ingredients:

1 onion chopped

4 cloves garlic minced

1 lb grass fed beef

2 carrots sliced or chopped

2 ribs of celery sliced or chopped

1/4 cup Coconut Aminos ( or Worcestershire) I used coconut aminos

4 white or red potatoes for mashing

2 Tablespoons butter/ghee -I used earth balance

1/4 cup milk/ cream-I used Ripple half & half

Salt & Pepper to taste

Directions:

Preheat oven 350*

Sauté onion, then add ground beef.

Once the meat brown add the add garlic, carrots, and celery.

While the veggies are cooking cube potatoes and bring them to a boil. I usually don’t peel my potatoes but did today at my daughter’s request 🙂

Back to the veggies and ground beef. Once the veggies are done add the coconut aminos, salt & pepper.

Drain the potatoes and cream with the butter and milk. Salt & Pepper to taste.

Place the meat & veggie mixture in an oven proof dish. Then top with the mashed potatoes. Bake 30 minutes or until thoroughly hot. Broil 1-2 minutes to crisp/brown the top.

Tonight I made individual servings which were cute and hot.
