What does it mean to be recharged and refreshed? Less stressed? Are we kinder to each other? Are we seeking God in everything we do? The even bigger question…How do we stay recharged and refreshed? How do we live our faith in everyday life when we are back to our overcommitted over-scheduled life? How can we keep this peaceful feeling God intended?

Thomas Merton Prayer:
For me it’s seeking to live an intentional life. Stealing the first moments of each day to daily dive into God’s word. I seek to find His plan for me each day. Somedays I’m better than others. Other days I’m overwhelmed with my schedule and self-imposed To-Do List. Am I in God’s will? Am I chasing my own selfish goals? I’m reminded of a prayer I felt so strongly about that I included in my dissertation so many years ago. That seems like a lifetime ago. So many seasons, moves, celebrations, tragedies, and opportunities yet is still so relevant in my life today.

“My Lord God, I have no idea where I am going. I do not see the road ahead of me. I cannot know for certain where it will end. Nor do I really know myself, and the fact that I think that I am following your will does not mean that I am actually doing so. But I believe that the desire to please you does in fact please you. And I hope I have that desire in all that I am doing. I hope that I will never do anything apart from that desire. And I know that if I do this you will lead me by the right road, though I may know nothing about it. Therefore will I trust you always, though I may seem to be lost and in the shadow of death. I will not fear, for you are ever with me, and you will never leave me to face my perils alone.”

So the point for me is to abandon my overzealous agenda and seek His! For me that’s stopping to ask myself is this Mine or Thine? The latter is all that matters. Daily seeking Him or me. So friends how do you Recharge and Refresh? I’d love to know!
You will seek me and find me, when you seek me with all your heart. Jeremiah 29:13.
