This Easter is unlike any other. We are all in the same boat. Our focus is away from the busyness, outfits, and the commercialization of Easter. Our focus is on a hurting world. It’s a new and different Easter at home without many of our traditions. Easter is still the same though. The resurrection of Jesus didn’t change. Just like those in the Bible, we do not know what is coming next. However, we must remember while we are in isolation we are not alone. We are never alone. “Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go”. Joshua 1:9.
The message of Easter is simple:
Jesus came for us all!
Repent- God I’m sorry for my sins.
Believe- we don’t have to understand everything but believe Jesus is with us.
“If Jesus is in your boat it won’t sink” Rev. Franklin Graham. Easter 2020 NYC
The table is set. Food prepared. Our first Easter of three. Our first Easter not on College street. Our first Easter at home. Missing our family. Those across the country and those gone. We are thankful for our memories and most of all for Jesus.

We spent our morning worshiping and our afternoon cooking our Easter feast. A new and different Easter with a new and different menu. Lots of praise & worship, movies, eating and singing along to the Sound of Music.
Even though it wasn’t the Easter we always had it was special. Technology allowed us to watch multiple church services, video chats allowed us to see smiling faces, and google tried to help us release a jello mold. It was a red letter day.
I know a year from now we will all be back to our busier lives, Easter traditions, family, and friends. I do hope we will take time to slow down, focus on what is truly important, count our blessings, and keep our eyes fixed on Jesus.
Easter Blessings!
