New Beginnings

New beginnings are not just for New Year’s, New Months, or New Weeks! They can come on a Thursday the ninth day of May when you least expect it.

Grief does strange things…we grieve the past, a person, a feeling, a season, or a hobby. However we hurt, we cannot dwell in that grief. We change, adapt, grow, and move forward. As we are in the midst of all of these changes there is one constant. GOD. God washes us clean like we wash our face. God’s words and promises reprogram our minds and hearts to free us from our painful pasts. We only need to seek Him with our whole heart. Did you realize there is nothing going on in 2019 that wasn’t going on in the biblical times? Wars, famines, sin, rulers, class systems, evil, right and wrong just like in modern times. Did you realize God knew this and there is a scripture for everything? Here are a few examples. If you’d like more examples please message me.

Overcome with grief?

Blessed are those who mourn,

    for they will be comforted. Matthew 5:4

Overwhelmed and discouraged?

The Lord himself goes before you and will be with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged. Deuteronomy 31:8.

Feeling overwhelmed?

Jesus said “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light”. Matthew 11:28-30.

Being attacked?

The Lord will fight for you; you need only to be still. Exodus 14:14.

Our words and thoughts are so powerful they can make or break your spirit, mood, or outlook in an instant. God knew that too. And what does the Bible say about that…

Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable—if anything is excellent or praiseworthy—think about such things. Philippians 4:8

Think about the good. Think about your gifts, talents, and calling. Think about everything God has done and will do with a grateful heart. God never promised that we would not struggle. However He did say…

“Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified because of them, for the LORD your God goes with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you”. Deuteronomy 31:6

So on this very ordinary Thursday evening I’ve resolved to stop worrying, stop trying to fix things, and wait upon the Lord. The right people and situations always come to me at the perfect time. Everything I need is always on its way to me. God’s plan and timing are perfect and unstoppable. I am letting go and letting God.

And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose. Romans 8:28
