When God has a message He sends it in love. With gentle reminders. Today we started our morning on the couch with coffee watching Andy Stanley in the fourth installment of What Happy Couples Know on Northpoint Live. We love watching Northpoint live every Sunday before worshipping locally. The service starts of with praise and worship music 🎶 as we singing along making out joyful noise in are jommies wrapped in blankets. Some Sundays there is a baptism or an outreach message. What I love about Andy’s message is the history behind the scriptures he references as he sets the stage for the unfolding story. I often wonder who would I be in the Bible. Back to today’s message of what happy couples know- they seek to serve one another, pouring out love without expectations. It’s not enough to know the Bible and recite scriptures but to live with the love of Jesus in our hearts. “Knowledge is not the measure, Love is the measure” Andy Stanley. I heard a different take on 1 Corinthians 13. I encourage you to check out this series here.
This morning at church I smiled as Shelton worked through the Children’s Worship Bulletin before church started. The verses referenced The Greatest Commandment: Love God with all your heart ❤️ The second most important is Love your neighbor as yourself. So here is the scriptures:
Matthew 22:34-46New International Version (NIV)
The Greatest Commandment
34 Hearing that Jesus had silenced the Sadducees, the Pharisees got together. 35 One of them, an expert in the law, tested him with this question: 36 “Teacher, which is the greatest commandment in the Law?”
37 Jesus replied: “‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.’[a] 38 This is the first and greatest commandment. 39 And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’[b] 40 All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments.”
Living God’s Love in our me first society can be a challenge. That’s true at home, work, and in everyday life. Even more challenging can be extending the love of Jesus with nothing in return. Jesus fills the holes in our hearts to allow us to keep extending that love and grace without expectations refining us for His Kingdom.
I love that both messages today affirmed that L❤️VE is the Answer! I’d love to extend love and pray with you. Message me with your prayer requests.
So let’s live like we have the L❤️VE of JESUS in our hearts 💕 in everything we do!
💗,
Julie
